Senior Interim M&A Consultant

Our client, a leading organisation in the packaging industry, is undertaking a major carve‑out and requires experienced interim consultants to support the end‑to‑end programme. This role will be instrumental in managing carve‑out due diligence, developing the future‑state operating blueprint, and supporting execution through to full separation and implementation.

This is an excellent opportunity for consultants with strong CPG or manufacturing backgrounds who have previously worked on complex separations, integrations, or divestments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carve‑Out Due Diligence
  • Lead or support multiple due‑diligence workstreams.
  • Identify risks, cost implications, and key interdependencies across the business.
  • Assess transitional service requirements, stranded costs, and standalone cost structures.
  1. Blueprinting & Future State Design
  • Develop detailed Target Operating Model for the carved‑out entity.
  • Map current‑state processes and define future‑state processes business wide.
  • Build functional blueprints outlining governance, capability requirements, process flows, and system needs.
  1. Execution & Implementation
  • Support the planning and delivery of the carve‑out roadmap from planning through Day 1 readiness and post‑Day 1 stabilisation.
  • Manage implementation milestones, risks, and dependencies.
  • Support change management, stakeholder alignment, and communication activities.
  • Ensure delivery of TSA obligations and exit planning.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience in carve‑out, separation, or divestment programmes (consulting or industry).
  • Strong understanding of carve‑out due diligence, operating models, and blueprint creation.
  • Background within consumer packaged goods, packaging, manufacturing.
  • Ability to work across procurement, supply chain, operations, or general programme management workstreams.

Ideal Background

  • Strategy or Management consulting experience.
  • Previous experience in both Day 1 and post‑Day 1 carve‑out activity.
  • Functional expertise in supply chain, procurement, operations, or finance within CPG/manufacturing.

Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, communication, and documenting outcomes. Able to operate independently and drive delivery at pace.
