Finance Transformation Programme Director

A private equity-backed business that has recently expanded its portfolio through two further strategic acquisitions is seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Programme Director. This role will lead the integration of the acquired business into its existing operations, with a focus on aligning systems, finance processes, and the target operating model to drive efficiency and scalability.

The Finance Transformation Programme Director will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the finance integration project. This includes the harmonisation of financial systems, standardisation of finance processes, and the design and implementation of a unified target operating model across the newly integrated business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, including the CFO, executive leadership team, and private equity sponsors, to ensure the transformation is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the finance transformation programme, setting clear objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with business strategy.
• Establish and maintain a governance structure to oversee the integration process, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
• Drive the development and execution of a detailed project plan, managing timelines, resources, and budget.
• Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of financial systems to be used across the integrated business.
• Ensure seamless data migration and integration between legacy systems and new platforms.
• Collaborate with IT and finance teams to resolve technical challenges and optimise system performance.
• Lead the standardisation of finance processes across the combined business, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting.
• Establish a framework for continuous improvement, leveraging technology and automation where possible.
• Design and implement a target operating model that supports the strategic objectives of the integrated business.
• Ensure alignment of the operating model with broader business functions, including procurement, sales, and operations.
• Lead the change management process, ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders across the organisation.
• Develop and execute a communication plan to keep all relevant parties informed and engaged throughout the transformation.
• Provide training and support to finance teams to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the finance transformation programme.
• Implement robust controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Monitor progress and adjust the programme plan as necessary to address emerging risks and challenges.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the finance transformation programme, engaging with senior leadership, private equity sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare and present regular status updates, including progress reports, risk assessments, and financial performance metrics.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability across the programme team.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Programme Director or Senior Programme Manager, with a track record of delivering large-scale finance transformation programmes in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment.
• Deep expertise in finance systems integration, process optimisation, and target operating model design.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships, including C-suite executives and private equity sponsors.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across a diverse organization.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
